Alumni Institute hosted by
The Nueva School, San Mateo, CA

Wednesday, July 29 — Thursday, July 30, 2020

If so, you set a transformative course for Social and Emotional Learning in your teaching practice, school community, or within your personal growth.

We are very excited to announce our brand-new Alumni Institute, designed to reconnect Alumni from our Institutes and to renew their connection and commitment to SEL in their schools and communities.

Alumni Institute Goals:

  • Learn what colleagues from other IFSEL schools have been up to while implementing their “ripples and waves”
  • Share your stories and shed light on specific challenges and triumphs, and gain support on a wide range of SEL-related topics

Who Should Attend?

  • AlumTeachers, Administrators, and Counselors who have attended an IFSEL Institute from 2009 - 2019

Institute Overview

Some time ago, you found your way to IFSEL 4-Day Institute and set a course for social and emotional learning in your teaching, school community, and yourself. Journeys are acts of courage. Some reach destinations, others meet obstacles and veer off course for a while, and some find respite in unexpected harbors.

Join IFSEL’s alumni teachers, administrators, and counselors from our 2009 - 2019 Institutes at our inaugural two-day Alumni Institute.

Institute Goals

  • Renew yourself and rekindle your practice through new lessons and reflection.
  • Explore the intersection of SEL and:
  • -Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • -Environmental Justice and Sustainability
  • -Global Competence
  • Explore the SEL topics that are on your mind, share what you have developed in your school, and hear from colleagues from other IFSEL schools
  • Shed new light on tangible challenges you’ve encountered
  • Connect and celebrate with peer Alumni

What's Included

  • A comprehensive binder of SEL lesson plans, materials and research
  • Healthy breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments every day (accommodation for different dietary needs available)
  • Joining an international network of educators committed to Social and Emotional Learning
