This two-day workshop offers K-12 educators, administrators, and counselors a comprehensive model of proactive and responsive approaches for Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
Conflict is a normal and expected part of social dynamics and may stem from differing ideas, perspectives or values; power imbalances; or limited resources. Across cultures, there are many common themes to how conflict is expressed and managed; yet the social and cultural context of a student’s experience, particularly in International Schools, also plays a major role.
You will learn effective ways to teach and practice SEL tools, including:
We will also explore, in depth, how cultures and histories inform our approach to conflict resolution and discuss how our students learn about conflict and conflict resolution from the media, their peers and their family.
This workshop seeks to inspire and equip educators with evidence-based, best practices for building and repairing relationships.

"IFSEL's approach to implementing SEL teaching practices, especially in the realm of conflict resolution, has had a remarkable impact on our school. After a short period of time, the work done in one division was noted by faculty, administration, the board, and our parent community to such an extent that it became an inspiration for the entire institution.. The SEL Leadership Program supports leaders and educators around the world to build and sustain an inclusive, equitable, SEL-rooted school community.
This program is experiential, inspiring, and renewing - providing a balance of high impact practical tools and approaches, alongside space for collaboration and reflection.
As a cohort, members of the SEL Leadership Program will work closely for seven months to support each other, share ideas, and offer a critical space for problem solving and planning.
Equitable and sustainable SEL approaches evolve from the intersection of strong foundational practices and innovative and creative application with each school’s culture and context. This weekend workshop offers educators, administrators, and counselors a range of practical and transferable SEL approaches and tools to activate a Whole Community Approach to SEL.
