I'm Bruce Kolettis, a current senior at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For fun, I love working out, cooking, reading, indoor bouldering, and nature documentaries. My helplessness in mitigating the prevalence and impact of depression among my peer group has driven my commitment to understanding mental health. To do my part in addressing this issue, I developed Outlet, a social and emotional learning app that partners with schools to provide students with a semi-anonymous means of peer engagement. As Outlet's beta-testing approaches completion, I am seeking to explore social-emotional learning-based curriculums as an alternative approach for addressing youth mental health. Through my engagement with the field of social emotional learning, I aim to help the next generation of teenagers feel less alone than mine often has.
