Previous to working in schools, Amy was a licensed community mental health counselor and she started her counseling career at Planned Parenthood.
An IFSEL summer institute training at the Nueva School in 2010 opened Amy’s eyes to the rich opportunities that a thoughtful SEL curriculum can provide for a school community. Amy was fortunate enough to be at Seattle Country Day School to be a part of and witness the profound impact on community growth that the incorporation of SEL made on students, faculty, and parents. She continues to use SEL curriculum at her current school and is in the process of exploring mindfulness and meditation in everyday living.
Amy holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a Bachelor's in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of Denver.
On a personal note, Amy is married and has two teenagers. She and her family live in Sai Kung where she loves hiking the trails and being out on the water.
