I’ve taken several SEL PDs, but this has been more in-depth on how to help children handle their emotions

It taught me how to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of the children

As a new administrator, having the space to build systems that empower teachers to care for one another was priceless.

What I didn’t anticipate, that I truly value, is the connection and the networking

This program has taken SEL to academics at a whole other level

There was a moment where my peers in the Open Session gave such wisdom and encouragement that it moved me to tears

We learned tools that weren’t just useful in the classroom but also in working with adults

Such a great balance of us engaging in the activities that we can then do with our kids, so we can really get a sense of how it felt

The group and classroom activities strengthen the community of the class in a way that I haven’t seen any other curriculum do

I feel there’s a huge void in elementary school curriculum with 21st century skills and I’m getting it here!
